For the fifth year running Long Island Cruizin' For A Cure held our one day Antique and Classic Car show, once again held at the Capital One Bank Building in Melville New York. Held on Sunday September 12, we had a forecast for inclement weather. Even with this forecast and a few sprinkles around 11:00AM, we still had a loyal following of 275 exhibitor cars come out for the event driving everything from Volkswagons to Corvettes to Ferraris and Porsches as well as more than 750 visitors walking the event.
The money raised is going to a newly started corporate onsite testing program. South Nassau Communities Hospital provided 211 free prostate cancer PSA screening tests at the event, which returned one potential cases of Prostate Cancer. This man (with an elevated PSA level) has been contacted and is following-up with his physicians.
The Long Island Cruizin' for a Cure volunteers truly thank South Nassau Communities Hospital and our sponsors - Allstate Insurance, Ferrari Maserati of Long Island, Plycon/Plycar Corporation, AAA New York and Exotic Classics. We also want to thank everyone who braved the weather and attended - car exhibitors, visitors, show vendors and everyone else who was a part of making the day an overwhelming success.
